Abstract

This research examines the insecurity situation and crime rate in Port Harcourt Rivers State and the

implications for the safety of lives and properties. The research focuses on how to enhance safety and

bring sanity to the living condition of all residents living in Port Harcourt city. This research suggests

ways by which machine learning assisted information for utilizing CCTV data for crime prevention 

can be used to prevent crime in the city of PHC Nigeria. Government tends to have adopted several

security measures to secure the safety of lives and properties of her citizens but none of these

measures taken by the government have produced any positive and tangible results. Kidnapping,

armed robbery, assassination, cultism, terrorism, bomb explosion attacks, all forms of criminal

activities and lots more have to be taken a massive figure in the State. The level of insecurity which 

was based on various people from different parts of the world as well as Nigeria, expressed that

insecurity challenge in PHC is worrisome and will likely to continue if it remains un-attacked,

combated and prevented. I therefore call attention the necessity to advance preventive and crime

free society that allows the utilization of machine learning assisted information for utilizing CCTV

data for crime prevention in PHC Nigeria adequate combat of criminality in our enviable state.
