ABSTRACT

Online balloting for hostel accommodation is a system, which seeks to solve the problems of balloting in hostel allocation. This system will be handling all the activities of the manual balloting system but with less stress, faster and with more accuracy. Students can ballot online and get their result real-time and also have an opportunity to print their receipt if their balloting outcome is a “YES”, for   students who balloted and picked a “No” will accept that as their fate and pray for better luck next session. The receipt captures the student’s details and will be taken to the Hostel management for verification and issuance of an authority to pay slip. The student makes his payment in the stipulated Bank and takes his deposit slip back to the Hostel management for allocation of a Hostel bed space. This software is web based and so can be accessed anywhere with any handheld device. Therefore this project, online Balloting for Hostel Accommodation will help to keep records of all Balloted students and also maintain a database of all the students living in the Hostel.
