ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to assess the important of breast feeding among lactating mothers. The specific objective of the study were to create awareness on the importance of breast feeding to nursing mother, to health educate mother about the benefit of breast feeding and procedure of breastfeeding their babies in a safety way, to examine some illness arising from lack of breastfeeding and  to make recommendation according to finding. The study adopted descriptive survey research design and the area of study is Rigasa Community, IGabi, Kaduna. Simple frequency and percentages were employed to analyse the data. Based on the findings for this study, recommendations were made.
